Projects:
Ohio Bird Conservation Initiative: Paul Rodewald serves as Chair
for the Ohio Bird Conservation Initiative (OBCI). The mission of
OBCI is to ensure the conservation and effective management of birds
in Ohio by fostering partnerships among governmental agencies, conservation
organizations, businesses and the public. OBCI is a state-wide effort
that has generated the support of 80 different organizations that
have an interest in conserving bird populations in Ohio. Suzanne
Cardinal is the project coordinator. More information is available
at: http://www.obcinet.org.
Ohio Breeding Bird Atlas II: Paul Rodewald is Co-Principal Investigator
on the second Breeding Bird Atlas for Ohio. This DOW-funded project
will last 5 to 6 years and will involve hundreds of volunteers that
will document the current distribution and abundance of all bird
species that nest throughout Ohio. Aaron Boone is the project coordinator.
The project is underway, and more information is available at: http://www.ohiobirds.org/obba2.
